My name is Young gun Lee, from the Republic of Korea, and I'm a freediving instructor !

Where does my passion for the sea come from ?

It might sound counterintuitive, but I actually had aqua-phobia before I become a freediver. I started freediving in Jeju island of Korea to overcome the phobia. I still remember the very first day that I went into the ocean in Jeju Island. It was only 3m-depth underwater, but the silent and tranquil moments in there are engraved in my mind forever. Since then, I have been really into every kind of water sports and enjoying every single moment that I stay underwater. That is why I named the team I am running as “Mute”.

The Zento 2mm suit, I use it almost everyday when I teach freediving. And it is already my 6th uniform.  

An action for the sea ?

I picked up waste in the ocean with my students while doing freediving and SUP. Whenever I teach freediving courses, I try to enlighten my students about harmful impact of sunscreens on coral.
