Choosing spears and power bands for spearfishing
The speargun comes with original equipment (shaft, power bands, wishbone etc.) but it can be used with other spears and other elastics.
The spear used with a spearfishing gun should however always be chosen according to the gun that it will be used with. Always longer (by 25 to 40cm) than the barrel of the speargun , the shaft may have various diameters, between 6mm, for medium sized prey, and 7mm for larger catches.
There are several types of spear: milled shafts for tips, tridents or spearheads, Tahitian spears with single or double fins, or Tahitians with one or two barbs. The effective range of the speargun can be increased by using shorter elastics or by using double bands with larger diameter shafts.
