There are bags for different purposes, practice bags for everyday use (boat, beach, etc.) and transport bags (travelling). Waterproof practice bags can be disinfected by immersion; transport bags fitted with telescopic handles and wheels on the other hand, will be disinfected through spraying and vigorous brushing.
It is important to disinfect your baggage because you will tidy away all your equipment (disinfected beforehand) inside. You may also keep equipment inside your baggage that doesn’t belong to you.

Before disinfecting, open the zip fastenings and pockets so that the disinfectant solution penetrates fully...
For hand-held bags, completely immerse the bag in the solution for the time indicated on the disinfectant product. Slide the zip fastenings up and down several times to ensure that the solution penetrates throughout, particularly in the pockets, and remove any deposits of salt or sand. Open the purge if your bag is fitted with one.
For transport bags, generously spray the entire bag with the solution for the time indicated on the disinfectant product while brushing vigorously with a soft bristle brush. Slide the zip fastenings up and down several times and brush them to ensure that the solution penetrates throughout, particularly in the pockets, and remove any deposits of salt or sand. Open the purge if your bag is fitted with one.
After disinfecting, rinse with clean, cold water and allow to dry in a dry place, out of the sun and not in contact with any other potentially contaminated surface. Put your bag away in a clean place in order to avoid any potential reinfection.
